Thomas Dambo is a Danish artist specializing in works with recycled materials. With a special emphasis on his series of giant sculptures made out of reused wood that accumulates an amount of 25 unities made in a large number of places around the world, over the last three years.
Recently, with the help of local volunteers, he has made a new series of six hidden statues of giants in green spaces around Copenhagen — his hometown — that can be found using a treasure map or poems engraved into stones near each sculpture. And each one of them was also named in honor of six of the volunteers. The artist’s intention is to inspire people to see the big potential in recycling and taking better care of our planet.
