Contemporary French sculptor and painter Valérie Hadida creates sublime bronze sculptures of melancholic women with fluttering coiffed hair that lead us to an atmosphere full of calm, femininity, and ethereal feelings.
Valérie Hadida’s “petites bonnes femmes (little good women)”, as she likes to call them, are a poetic encounter. Indeed, the artist invites us to enter her universe, both feminine and timeless, for a journey through the human soul. Kneaded, sculpted, and sketched, these female representations take us through the journey of women. From adolescence to maturity, she thus engages us through the various emotions and moods that drive these generations of women. Under the sculptor’s fingers, groups of intermingled women emerge, accomplices, vacillating between multitude and plenitude… Her women are “inspiring”. In fact, there is a vision of women in the pictorial art of different eras since the Renaissance, paired with a very contemporary vision of women with calm and refreshing poses.
