Holly Guertin’s art explores the relationship between humans and the natural world, often using wool as her medium. Her recent work, “The Invitation”, features two life-size lamb sculptures crafted from a combination of wet and needle felting techniques. Guertin’s inspiration for the piece came from a visit to a local farm, where she witnessed the deep connection between sheep and their wool. Through “The Invitation,” Guertin invites viewers to consider whether humans have a similar relationship with the materials we use in our everyday lives.
Guertin is a contemporary fiber artist who works primarily with felt, embroidery, and crochet. Her background includes a BFA in Fibers from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Currently based in the Philadelphia area, Guertin’s work has been featured in a number of galleries and publications.
