Chi, also known as The Paper Zookeeper, is a potter based in London with roots in Hong Kong, who has a profound love for nature. This affection is beautifully reflected in her ceramic creations, particularly the charming bear-shaped pieces that have garnered attention. Each of Chi’s ceramics is not only a testament to her skill and creativity but also her philosophy that art should be interactive and a part of everyday life.
Her works are designed to be practical, allowing owners to use and appreciate them in daily routines, making the mundane magical. The uniqueness of Chi’s work lies in her ability to blend functionality with whimsy, crafting pieces that are both utilitarian and enchanting.
I am in love with clay since the first time I touched it. I learnt my skills in Hong Kong, London and Japan. I am always inspired by the nature, animal, colours, beautiful shapes, fairy tales, animation and everything around me. (…) Most of the pots I designed are practical so that you can use it, feel it and interact with it. They are all quality made and I hope everyone who bought my pot will cherish it.
