Indonesian artist Garis Edelweiss, hailing from Pasuruan, creates intricate narratives through his graphite pencil drawings on paper, canvas, and wood. His work is a mesmerizing blend of vivid colors, symbolism, and darkness. Edelweiss often employs orange and turquoise as his main palette, infusing his pieces with an otherworldly quality.
His attention to detail is evident in the way he renders feathers, old wood, bones, rocks, and foliage — each element contributing to the rich tapestry of his compositions. The allure lies in the delicate balance between dream and reality, where Edelweiss invites viewers to explore the boundaries of their imagination.
Graphite pencil is my main tool. Drawing on canvas, paper and wood. I am very interested in detail object like feathers, old wood, bones, rocks, foliage and other detail objects. Surrealism became style of my work, trying to invite to my private mind where the boundaries between dream and reality are difficult to imagine. Actively participate in art exhibitions until now. Along with my work I also started to make the installation.
