Mitchell Grafton, a ceramic artist based in Panama City, Florida, has carved a niche for himself in the world of art with his one-of-a-kind sculptural creations. Drawing inspiration from a rich tapestry of fairytales, traditional craftsmanship, and vibrant pop culture, Grafton’s work is a testament to his diverse influences and his skill in bringing them to life through clay. His journey began at the young age of 19, working with Odell Pottery while pursuing an Architecture degree. Under the mentorship of Bruce Odell, a thrice-winner of the Pottery Olympics, Grafton honed his craft before establishing his own studio, Grafton Pottery.
There, he continues to push the boundaries of ceramic art, creating pieces that are not only visually captivating but also imbued with storytelling charm. Whether it’s through the whimsical forms of his teapots or the intricate details of his sculptures, Grafton’s work invites viewers into a fantastical world where art meets imagination.
