Paris-born, Venice-based artist and designer Silvia Finiels recycles broken pieces of the famous Murano glass, which is recognized worldwide for its quality and vivid colors, into gorgeous and functional sculptural lamps. She smartly ‘glues’ the damaged works of great masters to compose her unique creations.
To love glass you must learn to know it, know its thousand alchemies, study its history and the art of glass great masters and finally, relate to the skilled artisans like “perlere” and “impiraresse”. Design is part of my professional vision and life, for me it’s synonymous of space and volume harmony. My lamps are unique because I produce them using elements made by the great glass designer. They are art pieces, real sculpture with with reflections of changing colors.
