Cheryl Lee, an imaginative force from Cape Coral, Florida, conjures a magical realm through her jewelry, deeply inspired by the nostalgic allure of fairy tales. With a meticulous eye for enchantment, she skillfully integrates clay with brilliant crystalline rocks and naturally sourced elements from her travels, exuding a whimsical connection between nature and artistry. Lee’s creations echo the whispers of mystical forests, adorned in the forms of delicate plants and creatures, sparking wonder as both wearable art and unique home decor. Each piece she molds is a testament to her profound connection to the earth, weaving stories of woodland nymphs and ethereal landscapes that transcend the ordinary.
Driven by an underlying ethos of symbiosis with nature, Lee passionately shares her vision, emphasizing the significance of creation as an enriching process. Her art is more than a craft; it’s a celebration of the planet’s gifts, a thoughtful composition of materials ethically procured or lovingly foraged with her own hands. Embracing the dance of earth and ocean, forest, and mountain, her work reminds us of the harmony between nature’s beauty and our lives. Each enchanting creation becomes a portal to the world of fantasy, reflecting a delicate balance between Lee’s imaginative spirit and the timeless art of storytelling through natural elements.
I am a free-spirited nature artist who has a vast love for the oceans, forests, and mountains – and of course, all elements this good green earth has given us. (…) The process of creation is what is special to me, while the outcome is special to you. What is this world if not a symbiotic relationship, not only to earth and sea but to you and me. (…) I use the elements found in nature to create my sculptures. Almost every natural material used in my work is found with my own two hands. Materials that are not self-found (such as wool and scraps of fur) are ethically sourced.
