Exploring dualities (chaos and elegance, curiosity and sense of familiarity, bizarre and beauty) as thematic, New York-based artist Anthony Padilla creates stunning surrealistic paintings using tropical fauna and flora elements to compose them.
My main focus is on the wild untamed wilderness because of the chaos and simultaneously the elegance and balance found within the jungle landscape. I hope to inspire curiosity and a sense of familiarity with each painting but above all I hope to remind the viewer of the bizarre immense beauty and novelty of the natural world that we are part of and from which we emerged.
