Jeremy Mayer is a Minnesota-born sculptor who smartly uses vintage typewriter parts as his primary (or exclusive) raw material. He obtains the typewriters, to assemble his marvelous metallic animal sculptures, from yard sales, thrift shops, and, sometimes, from typewriter repair shops. Mayer refers to his work as “cold assembly”, as he does not use welding or glue.
