Hungarian artist Csekk István has taken the internet by storm with his quirky digital collage series titled “Stranger Things.” Instead of using dark and creepy imagery often associated with the popular Netflix show, István creates a humorous and surreal twist on the series. His source material? Everyday objects and scenes from Budapest!
By manipulating photographs of buses, traffic lights, and trams, István transforms them into fantastical elements straight out of the Upside Down. Imagine a double-decker tram made from stacked windows, or a bus precariously balanced on just two wheels. István’s playful collages are sure to bring a smile to the face of any Stranger Things fan.
I searched for the right spot and moment and took a picture from a regular everyday objects/scene like big blue bus or traffic lights. Later, I manipulated the images. I squeeze buses until it had just two wheels or I put the tram windows on top of each other to became a four-decker tram. I like transforming ordinary objects into strange things.
