Martina Celerin is a fiber artist who uses reclaimed and upcycled materials to create beautiful three-dimensional wall tapestries and fiber sculptures. Celerin draws inspiration from her surroundings, describing her work as “stories of the world around me”. Her pieces are a unique blend of traditional textile techniques and contemporary design, often incorporating found objects and unconventional materials.
Celerin’s work is not only visually stunning, but also environmentally conscious. By using reclaimed materials, she gives new life to discarded items and reduces waste. Her process is one of transformation, taking something old and unwanted and turning it into something beautiful and new. In this way, Celerin’s work can be seen as a metaphor for sustainability and the importance of finding beauty in unexpected places.
I am a fiber artist. I create 3 dimensional felting-weavings fusions using reclaimed and recycled materials. I love to create tapestries that are stories of the world around me – people I’ve met, places I’ve been and things that make me smile.
