Underwater figurative sculptures by Jason deCaires Taylor

Jason deCaires Taylor is a British internationally renowned sculptor, environmentalist and professional underwater photographer, born in 1974. He became worldwide famous mainly due to his public art projects of figurative sculptures placed under crystalline sea water.

“Taylor’s artworks are essentially artificial reefs, formed of carefully manufactured sculptures installed at various locations around the world. Each sculpture is created using non-toxic, pH neutral marine grade cement, free from harmful pollutants, becoming an integral part of the local ecosystem.” — (artist’s statement).
