Cardboard is definitely one of the easiest recyclable materials to transform into new objects. But the things that Japanese artist Monomi Ohno makes with this low-cost and versatile feedstock are at an extraordinary level of creativity!
It all started while she was studying 3D animation at Osaka University of Arts. Rather than using expensive software to practice digital modeling, Monomi saw an extremely cheaper alternative in used cardboard boxes. The result is wonderful and intricate sculptures that range from pop culture characters to food and everyday objects.
