The Pamir Mountains, also known as the Roof of the World, are a stunning natural wonder in the heart of Central Asia. One of the photographers who captured this phenomenon is Øystein Sture Aspelund, a Norwegian artist based in Oslo. He visited the Pamir Mountains in 2019, while road-tripping on the Pamir Highway, one of the world’s highest and most remote roads. He was fascinated by the geyser and its surroundings, and decided to document it with his camera. He used fast shutter speeds to freeze the shapes of the geyser, and minimal editing to preserve the natural colors and light.
