Intricate paper sculptures of animals and natural landscapes by Calvin Nicholls

In the hands of Canadian artist Calvin Nicholls, common paper sheets transform into gorgeous and intricate sculptures of animals and natural landscapes. It all started with experiments in the mid-80s and since then he has produced more than 500 pieces. Nicholls masterly explores the height difference between layers, highlights and shadows to provide an even greater sense of depth and volume.
