Intricate embroidery made with metallic threads by Laura Baverstock

Laura Baverstock is a London-based artist specialist in hand embroidery, textile arts and illustration who mixes traditional stitching techniques with contemporary designs.

“She creates embellished designs and bespoke pieces with modern materials and embroidery adding texture and interest. Her use of strong shapes and silhouettes are contrasted against refined and delicate detail. Her inspiration stems from both the natural world and structural man-made objects. She uses illustrative work and photography to investigate her subject and develop her ideas into realised embroidery pieces.” – Laura Baverstock.
