Jessica Hendrickx, known in the art community as Little Leloo, transports the observer to fantastical realms through her vibrant abstract paintings. Her creations are a vivid concoction of color, movement, and form — each one a peek into the surreal mindscape she navigates. Through the brushstrokes, observers can discern the journeys into imaginary landscapes and dreamlike underwater scenes that she envisions when her eyes close. Her artworks serve as a vivid connection to uncharted territories fueled by imagination, resonating with those who dare to explore the depths of their own creativity.
The essence Hendrickx captures with her paintings is unparalleled, consistently pushing the boundaries of conventional abstract art. With a philosophy rooted in openness and experimentalism, she seeks inspiration from every corner of her world, determined to find aesthetic marvels in the mundane. Her work defies traditional expectations, often surprising even herself with the outcomes of her artistic experiments. By embracing boldness and a relentless pursuit of novelty, Hendrickx crafts pieces that not only reflect her internal explorations but also provoke introspection and wonder in those who engage with her art.
My inspiration comes from everywhere. I look at life with an open mind and I try to see the beauty in all. I’m a creative creature who enjoys experimenting and exploring. Constantly challenging myself to step out of my comfort zone. I play a lot with colors, movements, compositions and forms to achieve something new and unexpected. My work is a reflection of my imagination and my emotions. Painting imaginary landscapes and underwater scenes is what I love most. These are the places where I go wander of to when I close my eyes, the scenery that I fantasize about.
